ViendoMovies, the pay‑TV movie channel owned by SOMOSTV (a company chaired by Luis Villanueva and part of SOMOS Group), which programs the best contemporary films produced in Spanish, 24 hours a day and without commercial breaks, is programming for the month of June—aside from its monthly premieres—a Father and Child Cycle, dedicated to a beloved figure in Latino households whose day is celebrated this month. In this cycle, the channel, which exclusively programs films from all Spanish‑speaking countries, will showcase the productions La Vida en el Silencio (Mexico, 2022), Las Buenas Intenciones (Argentina, 2019), La Memoria de mi Padre (Chile, 2017), and La Familia (Venezuela, 2017). Joining these films is the premiere of Honeymoon (Spain, 2023), a production that participated in the Málaga Film Festival and the Almería International Film Festival. ViendoMovies’ talent and commemorative cycles are part of the channel’s strategy to support films produced in Spanish, offering exclusive, big‑screen‑quality movies that reinforce the channel’s positioning in the United States and Puerto Rico.

The cycle highlights the sometimes complicated relationships between fathers and children. La Vida en el Silencio, directed by Rodrigo Arnaz and starring Gabriela de la Garza, Juan Manuel Bernal, and Fernando Becerril, tells the tender and dramatic story of a single father who struggles every day to communicate with his autistic son through music. Following this is Las Buenas Intenciones, directed by Ana García Blaya and starring Javier Drolas and Amanda Minujín. Amanda, a 10‑year‑old girl who alternates living with her separated parents, is offered by her mother the possibility of moving abroad—far from her father’s life. Continuing the cycle, La Memoria de mi Padre is a film directed by Rodrigo Bacigalupe and starring Jaime Mc Manus Menuel, Tomás Vidiella, and María Izquierdo. In this story, Alfonso is forced to take care of a father he cannot stand, made worse by the fact that the old man is losing his memory and becoming like a child, far removed from the strong man he once was. Finally, La Familia, directed by Gustavo Rondón Córdova and starring Giovanny García and Reggie Reyes, tells the drama of Pedro, a twelve‑year‑old who seriously injures another boy during rough play, prompting his father to decide they must flee and hide.

Joining this Father and Child Cycle is the premiere of Honeymoon, directed by Enrique Otero. In this drama, a marriage on the verge of collapse—Eva (Nathalie Poza) and Carlos (Javier Gutiérrez)—receives the news that their son Jonás has just died in an accident thousands of kilometers from home while visiting his paternal grandparents. Without the means to bring Jonás back, but unable to bear leaving him behind, they will try at any cost to obtain the money needed to recover their son’s body.

ViendoMovies is known for promoting films originally produced in Spanish, packaged in a premium presentation and celebrating the festivities of the Latino community. The channel includes coverage of all international festivals where Spanish‑language cinema participates, becoming a showcase for the artistic and technical talent of the industry. ViendoMovies also celebrates cycles dedicated to the most popular film genres and to acting talent from all Spanish‑speaking countries.
