Miami, Fl., August 2023 - ViendoMovies, the channel owned by SOMOSTV (a company chaired by Luis Villanueva and part of SOMOS Group) that broadcasts the best movies produced in Spanish, 24 hours a day and without commercial breaks, presents this weekend the Dominican film “Lo que Siento Por Ti”, the directorial debut of Raúl Camilo and winner of several awards at various events in the Spanish-language film industry. This high-profile premiere complements the channel’s programming in August, which includes a film cycle dedicated to one of the most popular Mexican film stars, actor Noe Hernandez. ViendoMovies is known for programming high-quality contemporary cinema produced in Spanish from all Spanish-speaking countries while promoting talent in the Spanish-language film industry.
The Dominican film industry enjoys great recognition among the Latin community for the good quality of its productions, especially comedies, and for the support it receives from the audience. “Lo que Siento Por Ti” is a drama/comedy that recreates three real and simultaneous stories of social inclusion, starting with a single mother of two autistic teenagers, a couple who unsuccessfully try to have a child, and the father of an athlete with Down syndrome in the Special Olympics. The film stars a cast of diverse origins, including Ico Abreu, Félix Germán, Nashla Bogaert, Frank Perozo, Yordanka Ariosa (winner of the Concha de Plata for Best Actress for “El Rey de La Habana”), Colombian actor and comedian Robinson Díaz (known for his role as “El Cabito” in the famous series “El Cartel de Los Sapos”), and Mexican actress Gabriela De La Garza (Netflix’s Narcos series, Las Aparicio), among other talents. The film won 8 awards and 9 nominations at various Spanish-language film events such as the Guadalajara International Film Festival, the Chicago Latino Film Festival, the Oklahoma Latino Film Festival, and the La Silla award given by the Asociación Dominicana de Profesionales de la Industria del Cine (ADOCINE).
“Lo que Siento Por Ti” tells the story of Ana (Yordanka Ariosa), a mother abandoned by her husband along with her two children, Leo and Juan, two teenagers with autism who struggle to be accepted by their environment. Her perseverance generates a great transformation in the people of her neighborhood, her work, her school, and ultimately society. In parallel is the story of Jorge (Frank Perozo) and Diana (Nashla Bogaert), which shows us the drama experienced by a couple who cannot conceive and have been married for 8 years. An unexpected twist will completely transform their lives. Finally, Carlos (Félix Germán) is the father of a teenager with Down syndrome, Luis, who is invited to participate in the II Latin American Special Olympics Games in Puerto Rico. In one week together alone, a connection is made that completely changes both their lives.
The film joins the Noe Hernandez cycle presented by ViendoMovies, which includes four high-profile films such as “Histeria”, “La Habitación” (nominated for 4 Ariel awards and won this recognition for Art Direction), “En el Ombligo del Cielo”, and the film “8 de Cada 10”, for which Noe Hernández received the Ariel for Best Actor. “Lo que Siento Por Ti” also joins the rest of the new releases presented by ViendoMovies in August such as “El Inconveniente” (nominated for three Goya awards, the Malaga Festival, and the Forque and Feroz awards) and “Hotel Providencia” (Venezuela).
