This Saturday at 9:00 pm (EST) ViendoMovies, the channel owned by SOMOSTV (company chaired by Luis Villanueva and part of SOMOS Group) that programs the best films produced in Spanish, 24 hours a day and without commercial breaks, presents the 10th edition of the Ibero-American cinema Platino Awards, an award that celebrates the best of Ibero-American cinema and television. The ceremony, held in Madrid at the IFEMA Palacio Municipal, was hosted by the stars Paz Vega, Omar Chaparro and Carolina Gaitán. The Platinum Awards for the Ibero-American Cinema have emerged as the great event of international promotion, promotion and support to Ibero-American films and with the coverage of the gala ViendoMovies ratifies its commitment to the Spanish-language film industry, part of the channel's mission.

The Gala is an entertaining show that presents the audience with the opportunity to see their favorite stars in an event combined with musical presentations, becoming an entertaining television program. In the Platinum Awards of 2023 the Argentine film "Argentina, 1985" took the recognition as best Ibero-American fiction film. Directed by Santiago Mitre and starring Ricardo Darín, the renowned Argentine star, the film deals with the process that brought the Argentine military before civilian justice and received a total of five awards, including the Platinum Award for cinema and education in values for its defense of democracy. Other winning films in this ceremony were "Official Competition" (Spain, Argentina), starring Penélope Cruz and Antonio Banderas, as best comedy; "El caso Padilla" (Cuba, Spain) as best documentary; "Águila y Jaguar: los guerreros legendarios" (Mexico) as Best Animated Film. Regarding talent, Ricardo Darín, ("Argentina, 1985" – Argentina) received the award for Best Male Performance, while Laia Costa, ("Cinco Lobitos" – Spain) was recognized as Best Female Performance.

The Gala, enlivened by musical performances, was attended by a large group of stars of cinema and music in Spanish such as Benicio del Toro, Platinum Award of Honor 2023 for his outstanding career, Michel Brown, Carolina Gaitán and the nominees to the different categories of the event.

ViendoMovies, a channel that programs the best of contemporary cinema in Spanish, supports in this way an event that has gained great recognition.
